We have MANY traditions but my favorite is each Sunday night for the entire Christmas season we shut off our phones and personal electronic devices and watch a family Christmas movie together! We skip eating dinner the traditional way (hot meal at the table) and instead serve popcorn and finger foods picnic style on a blanket in the family room during the movie! After the movie we have Christmas cookies and milk and the kids are off to bed! My KIDS LOVE it and my husband and I treasure the family time.
Our family’s favorite tradition(s) for Christmas are 1) every where we go, we always try to find an ornament- even if it’s just to local spots; then we write the date and location on it (if it’s not already) so our Christmas tree is full of memories and as we decorate the tree, we talk about the things we remember about the ornaments. 2) we love to bake Christmas cookies, make hot chocolate and ride around looking at lights on Christmas Eve. 🙂
We gather on Christmas Eve and have dinner. Then we play games and tell stories until midnight. We open and exchange gifts.
I shared on facebook but I don’t know how to post the link to that share.
We love baking & decorating cookies.
Our favorite tradition is having Chinese food on Christmas eve and opening one gift!
We start our holiday season at Prairie Light Sneak Peak 5k. We get see all the amazing Christmas light displays before the public and without the traffic. The fitness component is an added bonus. We grab our mittens, elf costumes, sleigh (for the contests) coco and cameras and snap the night away.

We’re going to try Elf on the Shelf this year. I’ll let you know if it survives next year. LOL!
Growing up one of my favorite traditions was making plates of homemade goodies to take to friends and neighbors. Lately one of my favorite traditions is our annual trek to the Galleria Mall to see the Christmas Tree there, take pictures, and buy chocolate goodies.
My family loves to decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving while watching Christmas movies like our favorite…Elf. On Christmas Eve we always open one present (usually jammies, a stuffed animal or something else to snuggle with), leave Santa a note with cookies and milk and read Twas the Night Before Christmas. On Christmas morning the kids wait on the top of the stairs while I turn on the Christmas tree lights before they come downstairs. We love starting new traditions and visiting Dallas for the weekend would be the best!

Making cookies on Christmas Eve, opening Christmas pajamas, then going to watch Christmas lights.
We love the Christmas season and we have many traditions, one that I really enjoy is for the 25 days of December they have Christmas books to open, the 2 eldest wrap the books for the 2 younger, we buy the c-mas books at thrift stores and yardsales etc throughout the year in fact we have enough now for each of the younger to open a book each day. We clear one of our bookshelves to display them all!
On Christmas Eve we go to our favorite pizza place, then watch Charlie Brown Christmas!
