One monthly expense that changes for us month to month is our cell phone bill. I hate it! Drives me nuts that we are locked into a two year contract and that we constantly have to pay MORE for over use. We need a Cheap Wireless Plan with NO contract! My hubby and I have been thinking about how we could get our oldest daughter a phone to use from time to time and yet not have to pay for a two year contract!
With school starting back in a few short weeks, our oldest really wants to walk or ride her bike and with this new Family Mobile plan, I have confidence that she can. I was introduced to the Walmart Family Mobile Plan as a member of Collective Bias. You can see more about this campaign under #FamilyMobileSaves on Twitter! After looking into it, I knew I wanted to try it out! I applied for a blogging opp where I would get a phone and get to go to Wal mart to check out the plans and was accepted!
Once I received the Concord phone in the mail, I loaded up my girls and we headed off to Wal mart to get the starter kit and get it all set up. The timing of this could not have come at a better time as we are leaving for a cruise and wanted Chloe to have a phone that she could text, email, or call from while we are gone. (I will be able to check email daily while on the ship!) Also, we wanted her to have a phone as she is starting to do a ton of sleep overs and she would be able to call if she needed anything.
What I love about the Family Mobile Plan:
There are no contracts! You can get Unlimited Plans with unlimited texting, unlimited calls, and unlimited internet for $39.88! Currently, my hubby and I pay anywhere from $120-$160 month for our cell phone plan and we don’t have unlimited texting and he doesn’t have unlimited internet and we only have 1400 minutes between us. So for approximately $80/mth we could have unlimited everything. You know I am a money saver and this drives me NUTS that I am locked into a 2 yr contract and can’t leave and do the Family Mobile plan instead. ARGH! Money wasted!
Right now, there are several phones on Roll Back at Wal mart. The Concord is awesome and perfect for little hands is priced great right now! My Wal mart had 5 different phones to choose from and all were touch screens. I love that once you have the phone, you can purchase a starter kit for just $25 instore. I paid and stood right in the electronics department and activated the phone in a few easy steps. (Less then 5 minutes!) It was super simple! You can read more about my shopping trip via my Google+ story. I will pay $29.88 for the cell service and then an additional $10/mth for unlimited texting and internet! So $39.88 total. This is a great price! You can head over here to manage your online account and get more information.

It’s good to know this option is out there.
Thanks for sharing, our family just started looking into switching our wireless plan for better options and this information has been very helpful!
Oh, wow…that is a great deal. Especially for kids…luckily mine aren’t old enough for phones yet, but it won’t be long. :-/
Thanks for the info. It’s hard to even imagine a cell phone with unlimited service for less than $40/month!
This is great to know. $40? If only my iPhone could be that price… That’s great!
I love these plans! Makes it so much more affordable for the family!
