When my family heard that Dumbo was coming to the big screen they were so excited and wanted to see it opening day! We anxiously awaited the tickets to go on sale and bought them. My big girls had seen the animated version, but my little one had never experienced Dumbo in any form. He was so enthralled and loved watching Dumbo fly. He is three and couldn’t understand the full story. To be honest, I am thankful that he can’t understand it all just yet… as he is adopted and the part in the movie where Dumbo and his mom are separated breaks my heart and I wonder how he will process that in the future.

My favorite scene in the movie is when the performers team up together to rescue Dumbo’s mom, followed by the scene where Dumbo learns that he can indeed fly without any special item to “make” him fly.

In “Dumbo,” struggling circus owner Max Medici enlists former star Holt Farrier and his children to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock.
