It’s true… Texas is BIG. Infact, it would take you over 13 hours to drive from one side of Texas to the other side. It’s not a small state. Lots of Texans own and love big trucks. Some say that owning a truck in Texas is a “thing.” I think people like trucks in Texas for many reasons. I think there are a lot of farmers and people who haul large items…which a truck is great for. I also think there are many who have horses, cows, boats, and such that need a truck to pull the trailer. Some just like the feel of the larger than life truck on the road. In fact, if you go to Ft Worth, you will so more trucks then almost any other vehicle.
What type of truck? I wouldn’t say that one is more popular in Texas over another. I definitely think that the Dodge Ram is a popular choice where I live. If I were going to drive across Texas, I would definitely want something that was higher off the road as we road tripped in west Texas last summer and there are some areas that are pretty “country” and rough. I get nervous about driving on dirt roads. I also think larger vehicles handle roads better when it has rained… and I don’t worry about road kill as much.
