I have to admit, I love it when Disney puts out a new movie that my girls are excited about! We love to block off a Friday evening and enjoy it together! When Zombies came out, we watched it…fell in love, and watched it again, so naturally when I was offered a review of it, I was excited to say YES!

Like most Disney movies, this one is filled with music, dances, and high school woes – plus zombies! (Warning: the songs are super catchy and you WILL be singing them for weeks!)

This movie is set fifty years after a zombie apocalypse, and zombies are finally allowed to enroll in Seabrook High School. The charming zombie Zed, who is determined to play football, meets freshman Addison who dreams of being a cheerleader — the ultimate form of status in the community. Zed and Addison work together to show Seabrook what they can achieve when they embrace their differences and celebrate what makes them a community.

I love to like look for bigger messages in movies and felt that ZOMBIES had some undertones of racial discrimination. I loved the how they navigated this “hot topic” and how the movie played out!

Grab ZOMBIES on Disney DVD on April 24th in store or preorder online.
