November is National Adoption Awareness Month! There are currently over 100,000 waiting kids in the US for adoption and who knows what the number is overseas. So many children out there who need a home! A year ago this week, my hubby and I were approved to adopt and listed as a waiting family for adoption. It’s a very special month to me for that very reason! The process of adoption can feel very drawn out at times, but the end result is very rewarding! Less then a few weeks after we were approved, we brought home our sweet baby boy. Since adopting, I have had many friends ask me about the adoption process. It blesses my heart every time I get to tell a friend about our personal experience and help them on their journey! Please reach out to me if you have questions as I am always happy to answer!

Hallmark is all about family and sharing in family celebrations! I love that they have two ornaments that are perfect for the adoptive families in your life. Their Hallmark Keepsake Better Together ornament is so adorable as it is not only dated, but has a spot for you to put a family photo. Year after year of putting that on the tree is sure to stir memories that are precious.

They also offer a Hallmark Keepsake Forever Family Adoption ornament. With the dated 2016 ribbon and sweet words “Meant to be” and “Forever Family” on enclosed in two hearts, it’s sure to be a treasured gift for years to come!

I have partnered with Hallmark to give one readers the Forever Family ornament! To enter this giveaway, simply leave a comment on this post with your adoption story…or your friends story. This giveaway will end on Nov. 30th at 5PM CST. If the story is too long for the comments, feel free to email it to me at mycrazysavings @gmail.com!  I am looking forward to reading your stories!

  1. I would love to give this to a friend that extended her family in October with the adoption of a baby girl. I don’t yet know her full story as I am going to visit this coming Thursday fir the first time. I do know that like I, she tried to get pregnant & it didn’t happen, so she decided to extend her family through adoption. She contacted me for guidance, because we have an adopted 16 month old we adopted at birth. We also have friends that have two adopted children, and it was this couple who helped us and answered questions. Not only did our family grow with our adoption, but it grew through these links of adoption because we became so connected with these friends & their children. It is so special that Hallmark has this ornament, because there are so many things that are not geared towards adoption. It would be great if Hallmark would make a baby book that is geared towards adoption also. I received a baby book as a gift & there are several pages that I have had to paste photos over the wording, because things like what mom craved during pregnancy are not applicable. Thank you

We were a waiting family for over 4 years in the domestic adoption program. We decided we were going to renew our Home Study one more time (it expired May 29, 2016) and give it until the end of the year for a placement. We received a call on June 7 about a baby due on June 22 (our 9th anniversary). We said Yes to the situation and our son was born on June 28 and we were able to bring him home on July 14 of this year! He is such a blessing to our family and he is full of smiles (his nickname is Mr. Smiley)! Our almost 7 year old son loves being a big brother after praying for a sibling for a long time! He is a perfect fit for our family – God’s perfect timing and little person for our family!

Adoption is the most amazing gift! My son was born on March 1st, 2016 and my husband and I brought him home from the hospital on March 4th. One year ago this December 15th, 2016 will mark our 1 year finalization adoption day!! Just in time for Christmas we have been a family:) My husband and I tried IVF for 1 year. After 3 miscarriages we knew God wanted us to adopt. We started the adoption process and found a new love for life and waiting for our child to be born. An amazing women picked my husband and I to raise her child and we still love her dearly. We have an amazing open Adoption with her and her family! We are beyond blessed and have found the true meaning of faith during the adoption process. It may not always be easy, but it is always worth it!
