I love Christmas for so many reasons. It’s one of my favorite times of the year. Each Christmas, when we pull out the Christmas tree to decorate, I get to enjoy a trip down memory lane. I love that we get to relive past memories and put new ones on the tree. During our family travels throughout the year, we always purchase an ornament so we can cherish the memories.

This year I was introduced to Hallmark’s Personalized Keepsake Ornaments. I love that they have so many special ornaments to personalize! I was given the opportunity to personalize one for our family and chose the one pictured above. I love how it turned out. We bought a new house this year so that ornament is perfect for 2015!

Personalized ornaments are a great way to give friends and family extra special gifts! I wish I had one with my baby boys info on it…now that I have him in my arms! 🙂

Hallmark and I have partnered to give you an opportunity to win a free Personalized Keepsake Ornament as well. This will be a quick giveaway so you can order it before Christmas! Simply leave a comment on this post sharing some of your holiday traditions or ways you make memories each year. Giveaway ends on 12/18 at 5PM CST.

  1. Since we don’t have family near us we’ve made it a tradition to go to a movie on Christmas Eve (we’re a little excited this year to be seeing the new Star Wars one!)

  2. We always give ornaments as gifts for our family — I love pulling out all of the ornaments every year!

  3. One of our traditions is to go to a local farm and take a hayride at night to look at their Christmas light display.

  4. We are on staff at a church that has 4 services on Christmas Eve. Our (grown) sons and now our daughter-in-law join us
for the last service then they head to our house to put a
Variety of appetizers in the oven. When we are done
Working we arrive home to the waiting buffet. We eat and then fall asleep in the family room watching a Christmas moving.

  5. I love Christmas and traditions. We love to give our kiddos pj’s and special ornaments on Christmas Eve. We also love getting together with our close friends and lining our kiddos up for the annual Christmas picture. Can’t wait to add a new little face to the pic this year. Bring it on!!

  6. My kids love it when I make Gorilla Bread for Christmas morning! It’s monkey bread, but you hide chunks of cream cheese in the middle of the biscuits and top it with walnuts. YUM!

  7. We love to make a scrapbook of the memories we’ve made over the past year and give as a gift!

  8. Every year we buy an ornament from Hallmark that you can record something and the kids sing a different music every year.

Some of my favorite traditions are going to Christmas Eve service at our church then heading home and the kids putting reminder food out on the lawn. We then come in and each kid gets to open one gift(pajamas) which is the same every year:)
We then usually watch a Christmas movie then put cookies out for Santa and go to bed. Then the next morning after opening gifts the girls and I play with all their new toys while my hubby makes us biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Yum! I love our family time and all out traditions we have come to love over the years.

  10. Well, every year we purchase a new ornament to hang on our tree. Jared and I also come home from my Grandparents’ on Christmas Eve, we have hot chocolate and s’mores by the fire as we watch a Christmas movie. Last year was the first year we didn’t because of our new bundle of joy. We are working on creating another Christmas tradition to include our Huddy Bear. ❤️

  11. Every Christmas Eve my entire family gets together and watches “Christmas Vacation.” Over the years we have stepped our game up in being actively engaged. We currently have the moose punch bowl and cups we drink from during the movie, a fake “fried” cat sitting under the tree, and we have assigned different family members to the movie characters, then we have a competition on who knows the most lines!
It seems we laugh and cry more every year!

  12. We love going to the McKinney Christmas parade every year, we also sing happy birthday Jesus and say a prayer every Christmas morning before we open presents to give thanks to God for all we are blessed with

  13. Sarah Anderson says

We all pick out a new ornament every year. Brian and I started this when we got married and now get to share this tradition with our boys!

  14. We get a new Hallmark ornament each year. The kids love seeing how their tastes have changed. Gone are the cartoon characters and in come the cars and singing ornaments. Mine this year had to be the hippo

  15. We go to the latest Christmas Eve service together and then serve a meal at the church afterwards for those who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Eve. Our kids serve at the kids’ activity table while we serve dinner. It is the highlight of everyone’s Christmas. We then go home, read the Christmas story from the Bible, open a new family game and new Christmas pjs and play the game in our pjs before bed. Then the kids fall asleep around the Christmas tree. Christmas morning is small. Each family member gets each other a small gift and Santa fills the stockings with fun useful items.

Our little family has a few traditions we do together. We collect ornaments to represent our summer vacation and the grandparents give the girls new ones each year. Every night, we read a piece of the Christmas Story and hang it in the tree (it’s a miniature book). We also wrap 23 fun Christmas books and open one each night to read before bed. Of course we read The Night Before Christmas on the 24th before we put out our reindeer food and then the Christmas Story on the 25th as we light our advent candles. We LOVE the Christmas season!

  17. We skip Christmas every other year and go on a trip as a family just to spend time together. The years that we skip we do Christmas for a family in need. After doing this for 10 years my kids beg to skip Christmas!

  18. Every year we purchase new ornaments on vacation or that represent new things in our lives. Our true is a true hodgepodge and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

  19. Shelly Cummings says

I love all of my mismatched ornaments. My children are grown now, but I still have the Barney and Big Bird ornaments on the tree. So many great memories when I pull them out each year. I’ve just started collected an ornament when we visit a new state too! I may have to expand to two trees soon! Merry Christmas!

  20. We love to hear the youngest generating read the Christmas story from Luke 2. My daughter is now able to read and I’m looking forward to hearing them this year!

  21. We love to watch Christmas movies together. Bowls of popcorn and snuggling make it perfect!

  22. We make gingerbread houses together every year. It’s something that my kids and I look forward to.

  23. Every year we get a new ornament that symbolizes something from the year to put on the tree – whether it’s an ornament with all of our names on it or an ornament of one of our kids’ favorite things, it makes putting up the tree and decorating it even more special!

  24. Every Christmas we read the story of Jesus’ birth. Cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then open stockings! Christmas is a day we gather together with family and just enjoy the day!

  25. We love going to Christmas Even services and then tamales with friends. Christmas morning breakfast has been sausage balls. I hope that we begin traditions that our child will carry on when grown.

  26. Dianna Kramel says

Our favorite Christmas tradition started 2 years ago when we brought home our son from Ethiopia. Every year since he came home we purchase food for the beautiful people of Ethiopia through an organization called
Ordinary Hero that has feet on the ground to deliver it to them. It is a way for us to remember the birth place of our son and give back each Christmas!
