If you have been following along the last few months then you know that my family is adopting a little one soon! We are praying really big things and hope to bring home our little addition before Christmas! To think about our baby in the hospital getting loved on by Labor & Delivery nurses makes my heart sing! I know those ladies (and guys) truly love taking care of fragile little new babies! I remember when I had my oldest…she came out silent, and green! She was covered in maconium. I was scared as I didn’t hear her cry and one of the nurses, gently came over and explained everything to me. She was so kind to tell me why the flood of people rushed in, why they did NOT want Chloe to take a big breath, and why she would likely spend a few hours in the NICU. I will never forget her and how she assessed the situation, made sure Chloe was attended to, then took such great care of me and all my worries. I am SO thankful for her and so many like her who are super loving all day long! Christy was such a blessing to me when I needed it most.

Pampers is launching the Thank You Nurses Awards program, honoring nurses across three award categories: Labor & Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Postpartum.  Pampers invites parents to share their stories of nurses who helped make life #betterforbaby by submitting a nurse nomination to the Pampers Swaddlers Thank You Nurses Awards. Nurse nominations can be submitted between November 9th and December 14th.

  • Three finalists, one in each category (Labor & Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Postpartum), will be announced in March and the grand prize honoree will be announced in May.
  • The three finalists will be honored with short documentary videos showcasing their unique and inspirational nursing stories.
  • Each of the three finalists will receive a one-year membership to the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), attendance at the 2016 AWHONN Convention, Procter & Gamble care packages, and more. Go here for full prizing details.
  • In honor of these nurse winners, three Pampers Swaddlers scholarships will be made available to help nurses from underrepresented groups complete their studies toward a Master of Science in Nursing degree.

I had a nurse named Lisa when I had my son. She was wonderful! She answered all of my questions, took the time to get anything I needed, and was very calming. She was great. She even stayed after her shift was over to help deliver my sweet baby.

  6. My husband had a wonderful nurse when he was in the hospital. She had her young daughter make cards for him.

  7. My Mom had a great nurse when she was being treated for her cancer. She was wonderful at answering all of our questions.

  8. I had great nurses after having my last daughter and when in ICU. I have to say I had several nurses overseeing my care and I for some reason just kept apologizing and they assured me that I was no problem, this was their job and I was by far their easier patient there. I just think those guys are so amazing

  9. I don’t have a nurse to nominate for baby delivery, etc. But, my mom’s home health nurse was amazing helping my mom with her Lymphedema. Not sure if my entry will count. I thought I would try.

  10. My favorite nurse that most stands out is Nurse Janet. When I had my first baby, everything was totally new to me and my milk wasn’t coming in. She told me to start pumping (as well as having the baby suck on my breast like I was doing). After trying a couple of pumping sessions, my milk finally came in and I was so relieved. I wish I would have started pumping to help get the milk going right away, but am so thankful to her for her advice! Julie smartsavvymama@gmail.com

  11. The nurse I had after delivering my daughter by c section was great. She encouraged me to get up and walk around so I could start moving again. She was very helpful and pleasant.

  12. I would like to nominate Karen who was my nurse when I had surgery in 1st grade. She would give me stickers each time I walked down the hallway with my IV.

  15. My sister had a wonderful nurse, Carol, who helped take care of my sister during 18 hours of labor and then the baby for several days while they stayed in the hospital for care and observation. Carol was kind, patient, and really went above and beyond what was required.

  16. My favorite nurse is my friend of 25 years, Donna. She is a dedicated NICU nurse.

  19. I would nominate my nurse, Julie, from my OBGYN office. She’s the nicest person and shows so much concern and care for me. I was diagnosed with breast cancer from my OBGYN and she knows my stress level goes up every time I visit. She answers my millions of questions with a smile on her face and is so helpful.

  20. My favorite nurse is my best friend Susan who is a great nurse that has helped me over the years with my questions about my health and my childrens. She is such a loving nurse to all of her patients and cares about her patients a lot.

  22. I would love to nominate my nieces nurse! She was born too early and weighed only 1 pound 9 ounces. Her Nurse Lindsay was so wonderful with the whole family. She had so much compassion. She was so good to pick you up on the harder days, or even for a hug when you needed it the most. Today my niece is a healthy 7 year old and we are still very close with her nurse!

  26. my submission: My bff is honestly one of the most caring and talented nurses I know. She genuinely cares and puts her whole self into her work to ensure that her patients receive the quality of care and attention that they deserve. Additionally, my favorite nurse and BFF just had her first baby last week – a beautful baby boy. I would love to see her receive recognition for all of her hard work and selfless spirit!

Thanks for the chance to win!
