Monster Treehouse Club is a children’s literacy program that ships out bi weekly books, dvds and activities. They actually write to your children each week as their characters and NEVER use a form letter. They encourage children to write back and really get engaged with the characters. It has caused children to have great connection and really want to read and write!
We signed up for the program and my Maci LOVES it. Infact, she will race home from school to check the mail, in hopes of getting another letter! Since she is the youngest of my three, I feel like she gets a lot of the “hand me downs” from her sisters and I love that this is something that is JUST for her! She rips open the envelops and reads every last word herself. She then grabs a piece of paper and rushes over to the counter to write back.
Maci has fallen in love with Jayden. She asks to “facetime” with her and has everything she has received from Monster Treehouse Club in her room for safe keeping. It’s been fun to watch Maci engage with Jayden. She loves reading about her in the book we received but even more, being able to ask questions and get real replies. I personally love that each reply we receive is customized to Maci’s letter. It has truly made Maci feel very special. Watching her read with love and excitement is very exciting to me! And I don’t suggest she write back…she wants to and does it all on her own! Her little letters back are adorable!
