Daylight Savings is next week (December 2nd) and I admitt that I am NOT at all happy about losing an hour of daylight in the morning! As a mom, we know how important sleep is to us…but more importantly to our children. My girls will go into full melt down mode in less then 30 seconds if they don’t have enough sleep! (I’ll admit it, I’m cranky when I don’t get enough sleep too…) Here are a few tips to help your kids adjust and get the rest that they need.
1.) Start NOW with moving their bed time a little. 15 minutes a day over the course of the week can make a big difference. It will take a few weeks for them to adjust to the darker mornings and brighter nights.
2.) Give them a soothing bed time routine. Sing songs, warm bath, calm massage with lotion.
3.) Make sure they are warm and snug…consider a snuggie or warm blanket.
4.) Pampers Baby Dry diapers will help keep them feeling dry and comfortable. Pampers diapers have three absorbent layers that provide up to 12 hours of overnight dryness protection.
5.) Reassure them that you love them and can’t wait to play with them in the morning.

I always start a few days early (or late- it doesn’t matter) moving their bedtime by about 15 minutes each day until they are with the new schedule

Our LO is only 5 weeks old so I don’t have the experience to give tips just yet. I did thoroughly enjoy reading all the above tips. 🙂
We’re big on routine with our baby boy. Bath, nursing & books/songs = bedtime for him

I adjust their schedule a little bit at a time starting a week before.
We keep our schedule and eventually get used to it. It honestly doesn’t affect us much!
We make a gradual change of what time we start the bedtime routine but we stick to the same things like story before bed.
