If you follow me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram then you saw a flood of pictures of my family enjoying Great Wolf a little over a week ago. We have played there before but had not stayed as a family and WOWSA there is SO MUCH MORE to do there then I ever knew!
We spent the greater part of our first day there playing outside! There are two bigger slides that my older two wanted to explore and my little one just wanted to swim and jump in from the side of the pool. I got brave and did the little water obstacle course and man’o’man where my arms sore the next day! I was excited to cheer my girls on as they went accross first, then couldn’t let them show me up…so I made a way to get across without embarrassing myself.
Towards the end of the first day, before the kids were SO hungry, we enjoyed the hot tub which my youngest discovered has a “secret” path to get inside to the indoor water park. By 7 my girls were wiped out! We fed them dinner, then got bathed and in jammies to go enjoy the bed time story in the front lobby.
They totally enjoyed being read to, and afterwards got to take their picture with Wiley! They loved the interactive characters popping up and talking.
The second day was filled with indoor water play and yummy treats from Bear Paw Sweets and Eats. The cookies were bigger then their heads and of course they HAD to have some ice cream!
Personally, I am a thrill seeker and LOVED the Coyote Cannon! Getting sucked down like a toilet bowl was so fun! I love the memories we made with our kids. I love that there was plenty for all of us to do and enjoy. I loved that there were rides that we could do as a family, as well as rides that we could do individually.
If you are looking for a fun place to take your family in the DFW area…then consider Great Wolf Lodge. There is an outlet mall near by as well as Legoland and tons of other family friendly things to experience.
P.S. Consider booking NOW for a staycation over the holidays…they will book up quickly!

I just love Great Wolf Lodge! And my daughter gets so excited to go to the goodnight storytime each night, it never gets old for her. And I love being able to go swim in the winter! Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for all the great tips about this family friendly staycation, we haven’t been yet but it sounds like this might be a fun thing to so this year!
When Little Miss gets older I would like to go there at least once. I would like to wait though until she’s old enough to really enjoy it unless someone else sends me of course 😉
We stayed at Great Wolf last April…The outside pool wasn’t open yet…We must go back and check it out in the warmer months!
