My girls LOVE Veggie Tales and any chance we have to watch them, we do! As a mom, I love the character lessons that are in each movie. Seems like so many shows for kids today are just mind numbing shows. I have NO problem with my kids watching Veggie Tales over and over. And honestly, the songs are catchy and I find myself singing along!
I also appreciate that Veggie Tales have a “familiar” story of sorts that engage adults…or older kids. In this one, it was a Robin Hood of sorts. This movie was adorable and of course starred everyones favorite Veggie, Larry. In Robin Good, and his not so Merry Men, the lesson is how to handle hurt. This is something that any elementary aged child struggles with. My 6 yr old will “feel left out” or will not be asked to sit with certain friends and will come home hurt every now and then. This Veggie Tale helps walk them thru this process and how to handle it. Of course, with tons of humor…Robin Good gets thru it!
Bonus Features on this DVD include:

My favorite Veggie Tales movie of all time is Dave and the Giant Pickle – It’s a lesson in self esteem. What I really love about it is the idea that “With God’s help little guys can do big things too.” No matter your age or size, you can be used in big ways!
My sons favorite is “The pirates who don’t do anything” as it teaches about overcoming things and working together and not being lazy. He says its just funny.
One of my favorites is Madame Blueberry which teaches that “being greedy makes you grumpy” and to be thankful. Stuff is just stuff. Sometimes I think I need to watch it by myself as a reminder!
My daughter loves The Star of Christmas. She calls it Tomatoes
Our favorite is the Little Drummer boy where Aaron (Jr the asparagus) learns about forgiveness! My little one got the movie and the toy characters for.Christmas and we still watch it a few times a week. We would love the newest video..we can always use a good lesson and a cute song!
Love them all; for example, Pistachio, a lesson in listening to your parents.
Dave and the Giant Pickle teaches that we have to rely on God and not ourselves. Trust in God to succeed.
I like Madame Blueberry, which teaches us not to get stuck on stuff!
I love Lyle and the Kindly Viking, it is a lesson in sharing. Which my son sometimes has a little trouble with.
I like that they provide children with a christian message on how to handle everyday life situations Thanks for this review!!
I will have to get some of these for my grandkids!
My grandson like The Little Drummer Boy. It showed him how to get along with others and not to hold grudges.
Our favorite is Madame Blueberry! 🙂
Forgot to add that it teaches us to be CONTENT!
