Pampers Miracle Mission Part 2 of 2 #pampersmiracles

If that does not just make you burst into tears then this story below probably will:

I married my Prince Charming almost four years ago. Before we met, we both had things to do: I had college, consulting, seminary, working on a documentary. Hubby had the Combat Medic duties for Army 101st Screaming Eagles and a year-long tour of duty in Iraq. We finally found each other in a fairy tale romance, and got married in a castle in Scotland. We settled down to live happily ever after, assuming babies would arrive right on time.

They didn’t. We were patient, then less so. We assured ourselves it’d happen soon. We sought out doctors, relieved that they’d fix the problem quickly. But they didn’t. Our giggling debates over names and nursery décor began to feel pointless. Baby aisles, once destinations for dreams, are now painful places we avoid.

We smile for other people’s baby dedications, showers, pregnancy announcements. If I’m especially strong (and not on hormones), I might not have to leave early to cry in private. Loved ones and strangers give us well-meaning advice, sometimes even partially based in scientific fact. Doctors prod and prescribe, measure and ask questions that (used to) make me blush. Friends complain about sleepless nights or endless diapers or the high cost of formula, and our hearts ache for such problems.

There are no greeting cards for the loss of something that never was. People don’t know how to respond–whether to acknowledge our infertility or ignore it. That’s why your unexpected support is so huge to us. I think we’d be great parents, and pray that we have the chance. Maybe, because of this gift, we’ll be one step closer to having our own Pampers miracle!

This is what I choose to do with the other $500! I am helping a couple in their journey to parenthood. This is very near and dear to me as I, too, struggled with infertility before becoming a mom. (You can read about that here). I pray that this will be the help that will send this sweet couple on their way to a full life of giggles and pampers. There are so many couples like this one out there and currently to my knowledge there are only 14 states that mandate infertility coverage on health insurance. It’s extremely expensive to take this journey of dr appts, ultrasounds, meds, and more. I personally went thru 6 procedures before miscarrying my first pregnancy. I was blessed to get pregnant on my third IVF with my first born. Please keep this dear couple in your thoughts as you read this and in the days to come. I hope to give you an update on them in the coming months. When I called this couple, they cried, and I cried. This is such a special blessing to be able to pass on and I truly felt like an angle passing on a message. It was such a sweet conversation.

Thanks Pampers once again for allowing me to be a part of this Miracle Mission Project.
