A change in scenery is SOOO needed with all that is going on in the world today. Our travel plans have been halted and we are working to find fun staycation ideas. I have partnered with The Gaylord Texan to tell you about this fun idea!
Outdoor water play seems to be the best way to push thru this hot summer and have a lot of fun doing it! Until this week, I had not experienced Paradise Springs at The Gaylord Texan. It was everything we had hoped for and SO much more! We stayed one night at the Gaylord but played at the water park for two days. Paradise Springs is not open to the public, just the hotel guests. You receive wrist bands when you check in. Super easy!
The waterpark is designed with families in mind! My little guy LOVED this area! There were slides, a giant dumping bucket, and plenty of room to run, play and climb! We also spent a lot of time in the lazy river!
With the waterpark keeping numbers low due to the pandemic, it was easy to social distance.
My bigs LOVED the zipline, they could have done that ALL day! And let’s not forget about the Kona ICE truck! (They had sugar free flavors so I enjoyed some too!)
Summer Fest at the Gaylord has so much more than the waterpark! You can play Bingo, paint canvas, enjoy family trivia, and even do a scavenger hunt! The Gaylord has thought of everything!
My pro-tips if you decide to enjoy this staycation:
1.) You don’t need to take towels to the water park, they are provided. They don’t allow you to bring liquids in, I am not sure about food. There are lockers to hold your valuables if needed. You need to reserve chairs in advance, especially on the weekends.
2.) There aren’t many dining options at the hotel, however there are plenty of options around the hotel.
3.) Give yourself a little extra time if you need to use the elevators! Limit of 4 people and it seems that there is often a line!
