Football season is here and we love all of the yummy eats that come with it! Watching college football is something my family enjoys doing together! Of course, before the game starts, I am in charge of the yummy homegating eats! My kids love appetizers and hubby loves meaty meals! I love recipes that don’t require me staying in the kitchen while the game is on! One of the easiest, tasty recipes to make is Dr Pepper® BBQ Pulled Pork.
Dr Pepper BBQ Pulled Pork Recipe
Purchase a pork shoulder cut that will fit in your crockpot, a bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce, and a case of Dr Pepper! (I find great cuts of pork at an Albertsons retailer!) Simply put the pork in your crock pot, pour the bottle of BBQ sauce over it and then last, pour the can of Dr Pepper over the pork! Set your crockpot on low for 6-8 hours, or you can put it on high for 4 hours. (If you are in a time crunch, you can also put the ingredients in your Instant Pot for 1 hour on high pressure!) The pork will fall apart when done. I normally take two forks and shred it to the consistency that we love. You can add juice from the crock pot onto of your pulled pork or you can add BBQ sauce if desired. I like to serve the pulled pork on hamburger buns, for easy sliders.
