My girls love fun decor for Halloween and this year I partnered with Oriental Trading to bring you this post! All ideas and opinions are my own and are honest!
I have had my eye on some cute wreathes for a while, but couldn’t break the bank to buy one! I decided that I would give it a shot and make my own! Luckily, I saw that Oriental Trading had most of the items that I needed to make this happen! I decided that I wanted to bring fall to my front door and ordered the following:
Black Chevron Burlap – 2
Feathered Crows
Orange Metal Lanterns
Vinyl Hanging Bats
I went to a local craft shop and got a floral wire wreath so I could get started! I didn’t need anything else! Here is how I made this fun wreath for less then $20:
To start. take your wire wreath, and weave the ribbon back and forth thru it. My burlap had the pattern on one side only, so I had to focus on which way I was threading it. Once you have about a 1/5 of the wreath done, push it together to make it thicker. (See below)
You will need five rolls (so make sure and order two packs form Oriental Trading!). When you run out of one, tuck it thru the middle and start another roll. Keep going around the wreath until you are done. (This took me about an hour. It wasn’t difficult, but pulling that much ribbon thru each time took a bit.)
Once I was done, I added the bird up top! I also bought a wand…but it didn’t look quite right. You can embellish this in so many ways! I used the other decor that I purchased to create a fun “Halloween” themed decor!
The bats come pre-strung, so hanging them from the trees was super quick and easy. Love the pop of color that the orange lanterns gave the entry way as well!
