Summer is coming quickly and I know my “me” time and our “us” time will be cut to a minimum. This is why setting up date nights to make our marriage is such a priority. It’s so easy to just go to dinner and to a movie, but I’ve made it my personal goal to look for fun things that are outside of the box for us!
For the date night that we did this weekend (and we do try to do one per month!) we went to Painting with a Twist in Grapevine, TX. Grapevine is only 30 minutes from our house and there are so many great things to do there! (More posts about the area coming in the next few weeks!)
We made reservations online for the couples painting class, which was also a BYOB. They provided ice buckets and we saw everything from wine, to soda, to just water. This class was so much fun for us. They provided us both with an apron to wear, our paint, and the blank canvas’. They led us step by step on what to paint, allowing us to put our own creative spin on our canvas.
I am super artsy and love to paint, but I get a little nervous about messing things up. Steve is not really artsy, but also doesn’t really care if something isn’t perfect. This was a great combination! He encouraged me to have confidence and I fixed a few of this brush strokes. It was so much fun.

They are located near downtown, so parking to paint then walk to dinner would be perfect! They also offer a punch card which will earn you rewards.
