Since my kids were small, I have had to fight them tooth and nail about begging to eat all of the holiday sugar that various fun childhood characters leave. It’s honestly a too edged sword that I have fallen on over and over again. I want them to anticipate the fun that Santa, the Easter Bunny, Valentines Day and Halloween bring, however I don’t want them full of sugar. It’s seriously something that I struggle with!
I started a few years back having the Tooth Fairy visit the evening of each holiday! I allow them to hide a piece or two of candy for her, but she takes ALL of the rest and gives them new tooth brushes in exchange. She loves to leave them FUN ones too!
If your kids are like mine, then they are very hard on tooth brushes and my 5 yr old even chews on hers. I don’t mind as they are easily (and cheaply) replaceable. We have been buying Firefly Toothbrushes for sometime as I love the light up feature on them. It helps encourage kids to brush longer and do a better job.
They have a new one called the Firefly Ready Go Brush. It has three lights. Green for Go, Yellow for slow, and Red for stop. You cycle thru twice…once for top row and once for bottom. My girls are going to be SOO excited to see these waiting for them in the morning!!
