Dining With Shamu
We have been to Sea World in San Antonio many times but it wasn’t until this trip that we dined with Shamu. I booked it over the phone and did not tell my family that we were doing this! For the month of June, yearly pass holders get 30% discount on this! It made the adult meal tickets less then $26 and kids less then $9! That is a STEAL for a yummy buffet that included RIBS, Fish Tacos, Fruit, dessert, and tons of other yummy eats! My kids were so full…and hubby was too!

Dining with Shamu is not just about the yummy eats. We also got to ask unlimited questions about Shamu and get answers from a Animal Iterations Member. My kids could not stump her…she knew the answer to EVERY question! We got to watch Shamu swim about 20 foot away from us while we dined, then the show began!  We all went to the edge of the pool where the trainers had the whales demonstrate specific learned behaviors. I love how they do not force the whales to do anything, rather just encourage them with positive reinforcement. The trainers do not get upset if the whale does not perform the desired behavior, yet instead just ask them again to try. The whales were very responsive and showed off nicely for us! At once point, Shamu just popped up out of the water and was less then 10 ft away from us. (This is the picture you see above!) We had no clue this was going to happen and we even got a little wet from his debut! It was so fun!

We went with some first timers, and out of everything that they experienced at SeaWorld, they said Dining with Shamu was definitely their favorite thing! It’s truly a magical time for kids and adults a like!

To book, just call (800) 700-7786 and book it. If you are a pass holder for the year pass, mention this as it comes with a discount for the month of June… 30%! Book BEFORE you go as it DOES fill out and you don’t want to miss out!  Kids under 3 are free but do need a reservation for seating.

*I am a SeaWorld Wildside blogger and was at #AdventureCon13 conference this past weekend. We choose to stay and pay for this dining experience as a family fun addition to the fun the conference had already provided. All opinions are my own.
