Best Time to Buy a Car

Just like sale cycles for groceries and consumables, there is a better time to purchase a new vehicle. Knowing when to buy can really save you a lot of money. It took me several years to figure out that almost everything you might want to purchase can be bought at specific times for max savings. I’ll give you a few examples and explain when the best time to buy a car is and why.

My family eats tons of chicken breast. If I buy it every time I go to the store, I will only get the “sale” price one week out of the month. However, if I stock up for 3-4 weeks at a time when it’s on sale, I will always have max savings because I paid the lowest price available. (This would be for frozen chicken, of course!)

There are specific condiments that are cheaper in the summer months. I like to buy several bottles of ketchup, mustard, and relish when they are on sale in the summer. They have a long shelf life and I will never pay full price if I purchase then. Likewise, I can stock up on flour, sugar, and other baking items in November when they are typically on sale for holiday baking. Those are two great examples of buying during specific months or seasons for max savings.

Just like these three examples above, knowing when to buy a car can really save you thousands of dollars. If you want max savings, then shop late in the year and late in the month. October, November and December are the best months to purchase a new vehicle. Most dealerships have sales quotas, which typically break down into yearly, quarterly and monthly sales goals. Makes total sense… and if you buy the year model that can come with savings as well as they want to clear room for the new year models!
