I am thankful to share that my hubby and I have worked hard to keep our credit score high. When we first met, I wasn’t sure we would be able to repair some of the damage that had already been done. He was raised in a home that put everything on credit and paid it later, I was not. In fact, I lived with my great grandparents for some years and they were survivors of the Great Depression and did not purchase anything that they did not have cash to pay for. They were extremely frugal.
When we got married, my savings paid off his debt. I guess it kind of worked out. We tried to keep our debt low those early years of marriage. Looking back, I wish we would have worked harder on building our savings, but we were also trying to furnish our home and upgrade our cars.
One of the easiest ways to build credit is to make monthly purchases on credit and pay it off in a timely fashion. If you are consistent in doing this, your credit will build. You can repair your credit in the same way. Make payments on your debts as often as you can until it’s paid off. Saying no to a few things now to pay off debts will build your credit in no time and will give you more flexibility in the long run! No need to worry about bad credit anymore!
