Since coming home from the Texas Peanut Tour, I have been playing around with peanuts more in the kitchen. They are easy to slip into salads, Asian inspired dishes, but my favorite is putting them in sweets! I love the sweet/salty mixture!
So I created this sweet and salty treat that my family loved!
Recipe:
1/2 cup raw salted peanuts
1 cup crushed pretzels
1 stick butter
1/2 cup brown sugar.
Melt butter, add brown sugar and stir until boiling. Remove and pour over peanut/pretzel mixture in pie dish. Bake at 375 for 5 minutes. Remove, allow to cool completely before putting into fridge to set.
While crust is cooling, mix the following ingredients
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup powered sugar
1 8 oz block of creme cheese
1 small tub of cool whip
Add to crust once crust is cool. Keep refrigerated until ready to enjoy! You will love the salty/sweet mixture. Take small bites because it’s a lot of flavor and texture and you don’t want to miss out on any of it!
