In a few short weeks, many will be traveling for the holidays! Travel by car can bring extra stress! My family is three hours away and we make the trip a few times a year and have found the follow five tips to be very helpful!
1.) Offer to bring the drinks. Traveling with bottled water or canned soda is much easier then traveling with perishable foods. We bring a cooler and just ice them once we get there. Don’t travel with ice, just run through a Sonic and grab a few bags. It’s easy and that can be done quickly.
2.) If traveling with gifts for out of town friends and family, wrap theirs in separate wrapping paper. It makes it much easier to grab those packages from under the tree and nothing gets left. If you are making several stops, then choose a paper for each stop. It will make sorting through the gifts super easy.
3.) Pack for one extra night! Holiday fun can easily be extended and having extra clothes for one night can’t hurt! We have found that it makes for fun memories when plans change and the kids get to spend more time with cousins! We also pack blankets and pillows for the car trip, this helps keep the kids cozy on the road.
If you are planning to travel this holiday season, I hope you found these tips helpful! They were sponsored by Hiley Mazda of Hurst!
