Summer is here and if your family is like mine then you have some fun adventures planned. If you aren’t planning to fly, then you will want to check out the items listed in this post! When planning your summer travel, you probably spend a lot of time preparing for your final destination, packing your bags, and saving money for fun adventures. Often times, you don’t think thru car maintenance and up keep before heading out, but there are five things you need to check before hitting the road.
1.) Check your tires. If you don’t regularly get your tires rotated, this might be a good time to do it. When getting them rotated, you should be able to see if the tread it good. You want to check air pressure as heat and cold can affect this.
2.) Oil. If your car will need an oil change while you are on your trip, you might consider doing this before you leave. Having this out of the way can help relieve stress and give you confidence that your car is well maintained.
3.) Windshield Wiper Fluid is often not checked. This is something that you will want to have full. If you are caught in rain or dirty conditions, you will want to clean your windshield. (Often times this is checked when you get an oil change!)
4.) Your gas tank. This seems like a no brainer, right? Consider buying a fuel injector to get more bang for your buck on your trip.
5.) Antifreeze. This is important as it helps ensure your car will not overheat.
Once you check all of these items, you can feel confident that your vehicle is ready to go.
