We have a two car garage with a little extra bonus space on the side. Ideally, I would love to have both of our cars in there…but it’s impossible. We have too much stuff to make it all work. We have sports equipment, lawn equipment, bikes, wagons, tools, Christmas tree, and our two large trash cans. It’s too much to even try to squeeze the second car in.
It’s funny because my hubby and I have never really talked about it, but his car just stays out. The more I think about it, the sillier it seems that we have maybe 10K worth of junk taking up garage space when we have a 20K+ vehicle sitting in the driveway getting beat up but the weather.
I guess the question if we should garage or not garage a vehicle would probably be best answered by the types of vehicles that we own. Currently, both of ours fit our entire family…which is awesome. The van is what I drive most and we don’t want our kids to have to get out in the rain or in a hot car, so it gets the garage.
My hubby drives a nice used car. We love it, but it’s value isn’t high enough that we worry about it. I supposed another thing to think about is if you own the car or are still making payments. We own both of ours so we don’t tend to worry as much.
Recently the one that sits outside got hail damage…like $5400 worth! We are not questioning if we should just replace it and use the garage to protect the new one.
Thompson Chrysler Dodge Jeep has some pretty mid-sized rides that I would love to check out! I love that you can filter and search by price!
