There comes a time in the life of a vehicle that you must make the decision to either have it fixed or forget it and trade it in. This isn’t always an easy choice. We have had cars that were paid for that we were going to drive until they absolutely died on the side of the road…then when the time came and they died, we couldn’t afford to buy a new one and instead chose to get it fixed.
One of our cars we had repaired became a nightmare for us. We got one thing fixed and something else broke. It was a few months of this game until we realized that we had spent more money on the car then what it was worth. We decided it was time to trade it in…and wouldn’t you know it on the way to the dealership it broke down on the side of the road. We were young and didn’t know that the dealership would have towed it in and made a trade (even with it not working) and we ended up selling it to a random guy on the side of the road. How crazy is that? I think he paid us something like $800 for it. After months of repairing that darn thing, we were glad to have it off of our hands. Looking back, that probably wasn’t the best idea as we knew NOTHING about this guy and it was literally a road side transaction.
