It’s not often that we go on trips and leave our dog behind. She has become like one of the family and the thought of leaving her at home by herself (even with a pet sitter to feed her!) makes us sad. We worry about her when we are out and about too long. She is our little pup and we love her.
When traveling, she can get nervous. We don’t like to put her in her kennel while traveling because it feels cooped up. A few things we have done to help her feel comfortable include:
1.) Dog bed in the floor incase she wants to lay on that.
2.) Chew toys to chew on during the trip.
3.) Shallow water and food bowls for light eating
4.) Lots of love and snuggles
5.) A leash for when we stop
Rayna is an easy pup. She doesn’t cry or wine. Our biggest hurdle when traveling with her is when we stop to eat. She wants to eat our food! We can’t leave her in the car while we go inside…or at least we don’t feel comfortable leaving her.
We love our van because it has a lot of leg room and cargo space. If you travel with a pet often, you might consider getting a Chrysler Town and Country. It is really a nice ride! You can shop at Adel Chrysler.
