You may not have thought about winterizing your vehicle but with so much snow all around the United States, you might want to consider the following:

1.) Get an oil change. You can get a thinner oil that will be beneficial if you live in an area that gets below freezing.

2.) Check your Coolant to make sure you aren’t running low. If you over heat and end up on the side of the road in winter weather, you would regret not checking this.

3.) Check your battery. Some have a built-in hydrometer so you know the amount of voltage remaining in the battery.

4.) Load your wind shield washer fluid with washer fluid that includes an antifreeze solution. Trust me, you will LOVE the effects of the antifreeze solution. Much quicker melt!

5.) Carry de-icer. You might want to carry this indoors with you, as it can be used to unfreeze locks. If it’s locked in your car, then it will be of no use to you.

6.) Check your tires. If you live in a place that gets snow or ice, you will want to make sure that you have plenty of tread on your tires. Also tossing some kitty litter in your car can help you get out of tough situations. Also a small 2×4 can be helpful as well.

7.) Last, you will want to keep warm blankets, bottles of water, gloves, hats, and other various items in your car incase you get stuck in the cold for a long period of time. A flash light or flares could be helpful, as well as snacks to stay fed, should you need it.

All of these items can be discussed when you go to look a new cars. Kindle Auto Plaza can help you find the best fit for your family and the weather.
