We have been in full swing back to school mode! In fact, we spent a great deal of our last week of summer at the school working in the work room helping make copies, laminate stuff, and sharpen pencils. My girls are great workers and love helping!
Of course, as I think about back to school, I not only think about school itself, I also think about packing lunches, after school snacks and busy evenings at the softball fields. All three of those things can cause a great deal of stress if one does not have a plan of action!
In years past, we have just grabbed a few snacks out of the pantry and hoped that they would tide us over until we got home. They usually didn’t and we ended up buying junk at the ball fields or at a fast food restaurant. As a busy mom of three kids, I knew I had to attack things differently this year.
As I walked thru Walmart I saw the new limited edition collectors series Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies and knew my girls would love those! They provide “Only the Good Stuff®” with no high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors, as well as provides a good source of calcium and vitamin D. I grabbed a few different flavors of those! The Cotton Candy/Strawberry flavor is available for a limited time at Walmart (only in August) and is not available at all stores. I added one salty snack, some nuts, string cheese and some fruit to my cart! I started to buy a plastic box, but then remembered that my Pampers wipes container was the perfect size and I could easily upcycle that!
Here is a quick “How To” on these easy snack boxes! My girls know that they must put all of the trash back into the container and empty it when we get home, so that I can refill it for another day.
The 12-pack of Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies Strawberry/Cotton Candy are my girls favorites! You can also find other flavors! I love that they are easy for my girls to hold and the perfect size for a quick snack! They fit nicely into our snack boxes and the special edition bottles are adorable! (We are thinking of ways to upcycle those as well!)
