*My family was given day passes to check out Schlitterbahn’s indoor waterpark in Galveston, Texas for the purposes of this review. All opinions are our own and are honest.
Planning fun in the sun can be tricky this time of the year as the weather is so unpredictable. When planning our little get away we tried to think of places that we could enjoy, rain or shine. We found the perfect place for this!
Over spring break, we went to Galveston and checked out some of the family friendly fun that is offered there! We stayed at Moody Gardens which is in the same area as Schlitterbahn, so we didn’t have to leave the parking lot to enjoy the water park.
Schlitterbahn has an indoor water park in Galveston that is perfect for families. We went last week and had a great time! We got there right as they opened and headed straight for the Boogie Bahn. I was very surprised that this did not cost extra. My oldest was first on board and loved it. I didn’t think my other two would give it a try, but they did! They hopped right on and off they went. They were really good… tons better then I thought that they would be! They loved it so much that they got right back in line and did it a second time.
We then moved on to the Torrent River and I loved that! I got to relax in a raft and enjoy floating around. My little one did’t feel so great so we went and found some seats to snuggle in while the others went down the Loopy Luge Tube Chutes a few times.
We ordered some pizza and enjoyed a few more hours before heading out. This indoor water park was a lot of fun and was laid out very nicely. I liked that not everything was in the same area. We could choose to go any direction and there was a fun ride waiting for us. The lines were not bad and we didn’t feel like it was too crowded at all!
We loved that our fun was not dependent on the weather. This works out great for summer as well. Sometimes it’s just too hot and you can easily get sunburnt while playing in the water. The indoor option takes that fear and worry away. It was so nice to just show up and not have to lather up in sunblock.
