I had so much fun this past weekend with my family! We were invited to stay and play at The Anatole. We first checked in and walked around a bit! The Anatole is a HUGE hotel and it’s beautiful! It’s located in the middle of Dallas and is near major highways, making it easy to enjoy the DFW area.
Off to Geppetto’s we went! The girls were very excited to attend their very first Marionette Puppet Show. The theater is located downstairs in an adorable retro style area. There was a feeling of nastagelia in the theater and my girls were very excited to see the fun. I loved how we were introduced to a puppet and shown how they work before the show started! I think knowing how they work made the show even more entertaining. The music was current and the girls LOVED when Elsa came out to sing “Let it Go!”
After the puppet show, we journeyed on into Sparkle! Sparkle! is a family fun event that is indoors! Last year it was outside and the girls didn’t go with us. (We went as a date night!) I loved this year even more then last, as it was geared for the whole family! We enjoyed spending time crafting, taking fun photos, bouncing in jump houses, sticking to velcro walls, getting our faces painted…and even got to enjoy some food truck dining! To top it off, ice skating was also included! It wasn’t freezing cold in the room, so ice skating was fun!
We had our photo taken with Santa and he was a jolly old man! The girls enjoyed seeing him and they wrote out their letters to bring back to him. After 3-4 hours of play, we were worn out and retired to our room for the evening! In our hotel room, we had the best view of Dallas! We could see almost all major landmarks. We enjoyed the view during daylight hours, but REALLY loved them at night! Seeing Reunion Tower lit up is always fun!
We ordered room service and watched Grumpy Cat! It was a very relaxing evening! I wanted the girls to stay up a little later then normal because sleeping in is always fun! (At least for mom…when she can!)
On Sunday, we got up and got ready to enjoy breakfast with Santa! This was a very well thought out event! They had a kids buffet set up for them to serve themselves. It was a lower table and was full of kid friendly options! I loved the attention to detail! We all filled our tummys with fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, pancakes and more. The girls enjoyed hot cocoa and I sipped away on my coffee! Santa made his way around the room and my girls got to give him a hug and let him read their letters. We didn’t feel rushed with our time with Jolly Old St. Nick! He was very personable and made my girls feel super special! Maci had an American Girl doll written on her list and Santa told her that lots of little girls were asking for that and he might have under produced those this year…but to keep asking each year because he might be able to do it next year. This was a great chuckle for me!
After breakfast with Santa, we played in Sparkle! some more! My girls really enjoyed ice skating and wanted to do that again. We also got to listen to the Dallas Zoo talk about some of their animals! It was fun to see the animals and here more about them.
We truly enjoyed our stay at The Anatole and Sparkle! was amazing! We plan to go back next year! If you are looking for something fun to do with your kids this holiday season…GO TO SPARKLE!!!
