Gift giving doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. In fact, I would argue that the gift of time or the gift of service is much more personal and special. When we are intentional about thinking of the recipients likes, wants or needs, we are creating Real Magic.
My hubby isn’t always easy to buy a gift for. Honestly, we buy what we want or need thru out the year and when it comes to Christmas, we are reaching for ideas. My hubby enjoys the simple things in life and Coca-Cola is one of them! So I created a special treat for him this year! Here is how I transformed these adorable, classic glass Coca-Cola bottles into a gift that he will love.
First, I got brightly colored card stock and free handed a stocking shape. I then traced and cut out several little stockings.
To decorate the stockings, I simply took the eraser end of a pencil and dipped it onto an ink pad. (You could also use paint for this!)
Once the ink was dry, I cut a cotton ball and glued it to the top of the little stocking. Flip it over and add a ribbon to hang it by. I used tape for this.
Next is where the magic really happens! I wrote out a few fun little coupons to stuff inside the stockings. These are the REAL gifts! I wrote things that I knew he would enjoy, like a massage, car wash, meal of his choice. Here is the finished project! It took me about 10 minutes and I know he is going to LOVE it!
I made another one for my nephew… I didn’t give his little stockings fun little gifts of service. Instead, I gave his stockings cash! He will LOVE that! Such an easy gift for teenagers!
You can pick up these adorable glass bottles at Walmart! I found them on the soda isle!
