Pollo Tropical just opened two new restaurant locations in Frisco. We have watched one of them from the ground up. (It’s located by Costco!) We have wondered what this new restaurant would offer and couldn’t wait to try it ourselves.
We were invited to stop by and enjoy a meal on their opening day…and so we did! It was super busy and their staff was working hard and efficiently to serve everyone is a quick and orderly manner. The ambiance in the restaurant is awesome. Bright colors, well lit and there are two stations that are self serve…the drinks and the sauces. There are ten different sauces to choose from…and we tried them all! (More on that in a bit!)
As we were in line, we could see the chicken on the grill. I love the big open window that allowed us to watch the food prep process! Pollo Tropical features tangy flavors of the Caribbean, Savory island spices, mixed herbs and citrus blends. Menu options include TropiChops, sandwhiches, salads, wraps, kids meals and family meals.
I tried the TropiChop with brown rice, lettuce, and chicken breasts. I topped it with a very creamy Cilantro Garlic sauce. Steve had a Calypso Beef Wrap that included grilled onions and peppers and he paired it with Spicy Poyo-Poyo. I also enjoyed the Mango Iced Tea. We are very excited to go back and let the kids try the kids meals!
I love that the options were healthier and made fresh to order.
