There are so many blessings in adoption! When we made our exciting news public, I am sure we shocked a few of our friends and family. Others knew we have been talking, dreaming, and planning for it for sometime. We had NOTHING. I mean NOTHING! Our youngest daughter was 7 and we had gotten rid of every baby item that we once owned. Since most of my friends are done with the “baby” stage, many of them happily passed on their gently used items to us! Some messaged us and let us know that they had items, others just dropped them on our porch. It was amazing to see God provide all that we needed!
Once we brought home our little guy we settled in fairly quickly and worked hard on making a lot of little adjustments. The lack of sleep had us feeling very zombie like for a few weeks. He is five months now and sleeping thru the night and we are less then a month away from finalization now and are working towards the fun celebration!
Thru a friend who has also adopted, we learned about Red Thread Photography sessions. This is a website with an amazing group of photographers who do free sessions for adoptive families. Talk about a HUGE blessing! I logged in and found one that lives close to me and set up a time for her to snap some picts! Janice with www.janiceconnolly.com/ has a heart for adoption! Her church does too! She was awesome to work with and SUPER fast! She specializes in women’s head shots. The photo above is by far my absolute favorite that she snapped of our little guy!
