If you Pine Cove Camp in the City coming to your area, then you will want to check and see if you can be a host home! My girls are all three at Camp in the City at our church this week and are having the time of their lives! Truly, they are loving every minute of it!
We signed up to be a host home this year and thanks to the extra space upstairs we were able to take 6 girls! These six camp counselors come from all over Texas and one is even from Louisiana. The girls got to our home Saturday evening and were tired from a day of travel. Off to church they went on Sunday morning and we didn’t see them again until that night. Camp started Monday morning and they were off early, at 6:40AM.
As a host home, we get to hang out with and spoil the girls with a yummy dinner two nights. Monday was the first night! We had ribs and some yummy sides and ended our meal with Strawberry Shortcake! It was so much fun getting to know each of the girls! They were so much fun and Chloe, Emma, and Maci LOVED having them at our home. They played games, sang, laughed and told stories! It was awesome!
Each day the girls couldn’t wait to get to camp to see these Camp Counselors. They couldn’t wait for the counselors to come home each evening either! It was such a huge blessing for us!
Here are three things you need to know about being a host home for Pine Cove Camp in the City:
1.) You don’t need much…just a space for them to sleep and a few meals
2.) Your heart will grow with love for these girls in the short time that you spend with them.
3.) Your kids will also fall in love and will be blessed from the awesome role models staying in your home!
We will definitely be doing this again! It was so much fun and honestly as a mom it gave me hope! So much in the media points to teens being disrespectful and selfish! There was not a selfish bone in these girls bodies! They were so loving and kind. They helped with the dishes, played with the girls and picked up after themselves!
If you can’t make it to Family Camp or Overnight camp, then you should definitly consider sending your kids to Pine Cove Camp in the City!
There are several other conferences happening in the fall that you can check out.
