I love technology! It has changed so much in a very short time. It has enhanced our lives and saved us time and money! It’s no surprise that some really smart guys would come up with an idea that would change health care and save parents time and stress!
I was first introduced to PediaQ, “Concierge Care for Kids™” is an On-Demand Pediatric Urgent Care™ a few weeks ago. I loved the idea and dove in to learn more! PediaQ is an app that allows parents to request a visit from a Nurse Practitioner for their sick child after hours. From the hours of 4pm-midnight during the initial launch months (soon they will be open 4pm-8am), a parent can get help and never leave the comforts of their own home. I love the idea of not having to take all three of my kids out and about for one sick kiddo. And as an added bonus (for an added fee) the Nurse Practitioner will pick up the prescription and deliver it to you as well.
Sounds too good to be true, right? There have been two occasions that my hubby has been out of town traveling and I had to take my kids in for after hours care. When you are looking for urgent care after hours, there is a lot to consider and not knowing how long the wait will be is one that no parent looks forward to. If your kiddo is sick and needs care quickly, sitting in a waiting room with lots of other people is NOT at all what you want to do.
I was invited to a launch event to learn more and went last night! It was top notch and I got to meet a few of the Nurse Practitioners who are working with PediaQ and they are super friendly. The best part about this service is that they will be in communication with your Pediatrician and they will even provide them with the medical visit information so that everyone is updated on the conditions and treatments.
I have downloaded the PediaQ app and plan to use it next time I have after hours urgent care needs. Here is a video that shows you a little more:
